In nutrition, the diet is the sum of foods a person or other organism. [1] Food, the usual choices of a person or culture makes when choosing what foods to eat. Although humans are omnivores, each culture has something to eat and some food taboos preferences. Individual diet can be more or less healthy. Proper nutrition is the ingestion and equally important, the absorption of vitamins, minerals and fuels in the form of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Eating habits and choices play a significant role in health and mortality, and can also define cultures and play an important role in religion.
